The OCMA Arc Flash Workshop attracted a full-house at the Ashland Casting Solutions Training Center.

On September 23, 2009, OCMA sponsored an Arc Flash Workshop and more than forty (40) members attended. Recently, a number of OCMA member companies have undergone OSHA inspections and have been cited for lack of compliance with NFPA 70E pertaining to the dangers of arc flash. The workshop was convened to alert OCMA members about their responsibilities to provide a safe workplace by eliminating and protecting against electrical dangers including arc flash.

OCMA recruited two outstanding electrical engineering firms, D. L. Steiner, Inc. and PowerEdge Technologies, Inc. both of which had significant experience working with foundries. The workshop also featured OCMA member company representatives discussing their experience with OSHA inspections concerning arc flash compliance.
