OCMA Events Winter 2012 Meeting |
OCMA Officers, Trustees, Key Contacts, Environmental Affairs & HR Committees, & Members:
Season’s Greetings from OCMA, wishing you and your family a wonderful Holiday Season. The Browns gave it their best last Thursday, but it just wasn’t enough. They still need a fast, tall & strong wide receiver so McCoy can throw into the end zone and have a better chance of success. The Columbus Blue Jackets found another way to lose to the Predators and that pain just won’t go away. The Bengals still have a tenuous shot at a NFL wildcard, but that collapse at the end of the game yesterday was depressing. The Bearcats, Bobcats, Buckeyes, and Rockets can be proud to be representing their schools in this season’s bowl games and many of our members will be rooting their teams on. Well, if college bowls games are about to begin and Hanukkah and Christmas are near, it must be time to prepare for the January meeting of the Ohio Cast Metals Association (OCMA). The meeting will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The meeting will start with lunch at 11:30 AM in Room E-151 and the general membership meeting will be held in Room E-150, beginning at approximately 1:00 PM.
As usual, we have an outstanding, all-star line-up of speakers for the meeting. Ohio Treasurer and likely Republican Candidate for the Senate, Josh Mandel, is our keynote speaker. Treasurer Mandel has accomplished much at a very young age and I believe you will be impressed. Kevin Schmidt, Ohio Manufacturers’ Association (OMA), will discuss the many changes occurring in the electrical utility industry and explain how these changes might affect heavy users of electricity. OCMA Trustee Len Stupczy, Sand Products Corporation and Greg Tordoff, Fairmount Minerals Ltd. will discuss the impact the tremendous demand for sand for the fracking process in oil and natural gas discovery is having on the supply of sand for the metal casting industry and what the future may hold. Finally, OCMA Vice President for Environmental Affairs Ryan Burke, OSCO Industries, Inc. will deliver an environmental update. (See attached agenda)
Please return the attached registration form along with a $50 check for each registrant by Friday, January 13, 2012, so we can plan accordingly. Please note, you will be invoiced for expenses if you make a reservation and do not cancel at least 48 hours in advance. We are charged by the convention center for each guaranteed participant after the 48 hours and cannot reduce this number after the deadline.
