OCMA Events October 2009 Meeting |
OCMA Officers, Trustees, Key Contacts, Environmental Affairs & HR Committees, & Members:
Well, it takes a lot to divert my attention from football, baseball, and golf at this time of year, but Melanie Oudin has succeeded with her wonderful run in the U.S. Open. She is really something and I will be rooting for her this evening. On Saturday, the pressure is on the Buckeyes to burnish the tarnished Big Ten against a team that could probably compete against the pre-TO Buffalo Bills. Good Luck. Last, but not least, this weekend begins another NFL season. I have high hopes for the Bengals and Browns this year. With all this going on, don't forget the next OCMA meeting to be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. As usual, the meeting will start with lunch at 11:30 AM in Room E-151 and the general membership meeting will be held in Room E-150. Please note the general meeting will begin at 12:30 PM.
We have recruited a number of outstanding speakers for the meeting. Of course,
OCMA General Counsel Mike Frantz, Frantz Ward LLP, will provide a legal update.
Thanks to OCMA President Jim Flanagan, Babcock & Wilcox Company, we are
fortunate to have foundry expert, Pete Macler, Peter E. Macler Associates,
PLLC, speaking about revitalizing your foundry safety program including ergonomic
solutions. For those of you unfamiliar with Pete, he is the former President & CEO
of PEMCO Castings Inc. who has been an instructor for CMI since 1981, an
active speaker at AFS functions, and author of numerous articles for Modern
Casting, and Foundry M & T. Additionally, members of the OCMA HR Committee
convinced Farley Houston & Amy Hitzeman, Cast-Fab Technologies, Inc.,
to share their experience with implementing a wellness program at the foundry.
Finally, Vice President for Environmental Affairs Ryan Burke, OSCO Industries,
Inc., will provide his environmental update.
