As previously announced, on Thursday, March 20, 2008, OCMA will sponsor
an Area Source Workshop at Ashland Casting Solutions in Dublin. The workshop
will be held in Room 1-A and we will begin at 9:30 AM. (See attached
agenda)
As you know, USEPA signed the final Area Source Rule for Iron & Steel
Foundries on December 15, 2007, and published it in the Federal Register
on January 2, 2008. This rule applies to all foundries that are not covered
by MACT. If your company is not a MACT facility, it is an Area Source
facility, there is no in between. This workshop will outline the steps
your company needs to take and present best practices for compliance.
OCMA Vice President for Environmental Affairs Ryan Burke, OSCO Industries,
Inc. will be joined by Kim Myers, Griffin Wheel Company, Craig Schmeisser,
RMT, Inc. and Jim Schifo, Keramida Environmental, Inc. These outstanding
presenters, who were active members of the AFS Area Source Working Group,
will provide you with the information and/or the strategies you need
to comply with the new rule. Each participant will receive a workbook
that will include the presentations as well as a Compliance Calendar.
As an added benefit, former Ohio EPA Director Joe Koncelik, who is now
with OCMA General Counsel Frantz Ward LLP, will spend time with us providing
a former insider's view of developing, "hot" environmental
issues that will affect Ohio metal casters. This is a rare opportunity,
so don't miss it.

for the first registrant and $100 for each additional registrant by Friday,
