Fall 2007 Meeting |
| OCMA Officers, Trustees, Key Contacts, Environmental Affairs & HR
Committees, & Members:
You must admit we are seeing some pretty strange phenomena lately. The baseball playoffs begin in three weeks and both the Cleveland Indians and the Chicago Cubs are in first place! The Cleveland Browns scored more than 50 points against a Cincinnati Bengals team that had held the Baltimore Ravens scoreless with first and goal for eight nail-biting plays. Perhaps we should consult Al Gore to determine whether global warming may be involved. Fortunately, some things are as normal as ever such as the OCMA meeting to be held on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. As usual, the meeting will start with lunch at 11:30 AM in Room D-233 and the general membership meeting will be held in Room D-230.
The OCMA membership meeting will address two timely issues
of key import to the Ohio metal casting industry; the Ohio Bureau of
Workers Comp and
electricity restructuring. Tina Kielmeyer, Chief Customer Services Officer,
Ohio Bureau of Workers' Comp, will provide a valuable update of changes
at the Bureau and her efforts to improve the delivery of BWC services.
We will then have three experts addressing the important issue of electricity
restructuring; Mark Shanahan, Governor's Energy Advisor, Sam Randazzo,
McNees Wallace & Nurick, General Counsel, Industrial Energy Users-Ohio
(IEU), and Kevin Schmidt, Ohio Manufacturers' Association (OMA), Ohio
Coalition for Affordable Power. Finally, Vice President for Environmental
Affairs Ryan Burke, OSCO Industries, Inc., will provide his environmental
update. |
