2006 July Regular Meeting |

The NBA Finals begin tonight, the Stanley Cup Finals are underway, and next
week is the U.S. Open Championship at Winged Foot. It must be time to
prepare for the next meeting of the Ohio Cast Metals Association (OCMA). The
meeting will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2006, at the Greater Columbus
Convention Center. The meeting will start with lunch at 11:30 AM in Room
E-151 and the general membership meeting will be held in Room E-150, beginning
at approximately 1:00 PM.
To honor the upcoming Baseball All-Star game, we have an all-star
line-up of speakers as well. Ohio Speaker of the House Jon
Husted,
will be our luncheon speaker. Speaker Husted, who is a strong supporter
of business and manufacturing in Ohio, will offer his perspective
on how Ohio can regain its position as one of the leading states in America. Ryan
Augsburger, Managing Director, Public Policy Services, Ohio Manufactures' Association
(OMA), will provide his insight on the very important elections
coming in November. Ohioans will select a new governor and the Ohio House
and Senate are up for grabs. Also, Michael Quinn, Logistics Management
Inc., is
traveling from Virginia to describe a discount freight service program that
may be of interest to OCMA member companies. Logistics Management Inc.
has been working with the California Cast Metals Association (CCMA) on a successful
program in their state. Finally, Vice President for Environmental Affairs
Dennis Baker, Flowserve Corporation, will outline his environmental update.
