2006 Plant Tour |

This year's tour will be held
at The Quality Castings Company on Tuesday,
May 9, 2006. The Orrville facility features five electric furnaces,
two Osborn Inliner automatic cope & drag lines, a Fischer-Plus squeeze
molding system with 38x42x16x16 flasks operating at a rate of 50 per hour for
castings up to 700 lbs., and a Hunter H20 matchplate molding line. The
core room features four Laempe machines. The foundry has a complete
pattern shop as well as machining capability on-site. Serving critical
manufacturing industries since 1933, The Quality Castings Company is a recognized
leader in both high volume and short run production of gray & ductile
iron castings.
As with previous tours, we will tour The Quality Castings Company in two
shifts, an AM shift and a PM shift. The AM shift will begin with an orientation
meeting at 9:45 AM. Lunch for everyone will be held at The Pines Country
Club approximately 10 minutes away beginning at 11:30 AM. The PM
shift will begin soon after the luncheon with orientation beginning
at approximately 1:15 PM.
Long pants and leather shoes are required. Please do not wear open-toed
shoes or a dress. Needed safety equipment will be provided, but you
may wish to bring your own for comfort.
