2006 Regular Meeting |
January 19, 2006
Season's Greetings from the Ohio Cast Metals Association. We wish you the very best this Holiday Season and hope that you will have the opportunity to spend this special time with family and friends. For those of you who have sent your wish for an HDTV to Santa, I hope he brings you one so you can really enjoy the bowl games. Unfortunately, I'll be using the old technology again next year.
Speaking of watching football. What great match-ups! USC v. Texas, OSU v. Notre Dame, and OCMA & Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell. Yes everybody, at the next meeting of the Ohio Cast Metals Association (OCMA) to be held on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, Ohio Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Ken Blackwell will be our featured speaker. The meeting will start with lunch at 11:30 AM in Room E-151 and the general membership meeting will be held in Room E-150, beginning at approximately 12:30 PM.
The lineup for the meeting will surely get the New Year off to a great start.
In addition to Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, we have additional
outstanding speakers such as Alfred Spada, Editor-in-Chief, Modern Castings,
who will provide a long-term outlook for the metal castings industry. Tom
Schoeder, SinterCast, will describe the beneficial attributes of Compacted
Graphite Iron (CGI) and outline its continued development. Doru Stefanescu,
FEF Key Professor, The Ohio State University, will describe his vision for
the revitalization of the iron casting program at OSU and Larry Boyd, EIO,
will provide an update on the DOE training program. Finally, Vice President
for Environmental Affairs Dennis Baker, Flowserve Corporation, will outline
his environmental update.
