Foundry Industry
Outstanding State Infrastructure |
In large part, it's less than a half day's drive away from any foundry in the state.
Ohio offers metal casters one of the nation's best support networks of universities, technology centers, research centers, and related government facilities.
For example, Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland has just modernized its metal casting laboratory to strengthen its lead in metallurgical research.
The University of Cincinnati, Ohio State University and Kent State University offer curriculums in metallurgy and work with the Foundry Education Foundation to place engineering graduates in foundry-related jobs.
Hocking Technical College provides hands-on courses in metal casting technology, as do numerous other colleges throughout the state.
The Ohio Edison Centers offer metal casters a central resource for technological information. In fact, the Edison Material Technology Center (EMTEC) employs the only metal casting agents in the country!
The NASA Lewis Research Center in Cleveland and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton are developing high-technology advances in the art of metal casting for defense/ aerospace and dual-use applications.
